Connecting to Mohawk Wi-Fi
If a headset is not automatically connecting to Mohawk Wi-Fi (after a factory reset, for example) follow these instructions for connecting:
- Press
/
on your right Touch controller to pull up your universal menu.
- Hover over the clock on the left side of the universal menu. When Quick Settings appears, select it to open the Quick Settings panel.
- Select Wi-Fi.
- Select the toggle to turn Wi-Fi on, then select the Wi-Fi network you want to connect to (MohawkWifi).
- Enter the following information:
Username: SOHVR
EAP method : PEAP
Phase 2 authentication : None or MS-CHAP v2
CA certificate: Use system certificate
Domain: mohawkwifi.mohawkcollege.ca
Identity : SOHVR
Anonymous identity : Leave blank
Password : 4hpN9s1vDiMJrvRuWECv
*The ‘SOHVR’ username and password were created as a unique User/Password for the VR Headsets, similar to your Mohawk ID and password. You can also connect to MohawkWifi using the steps above with your personal Mohawk ID Number (Identity) and your personal password, but this is not ideal from a security standpoint.*
If you complete the steps above and the Wi-Fi still will not connect, it is likely that the headset needs an update. This is tricky: the headset needs an update to connect to the Wi-Fi, but it needs Wi-Fi to do the update. In order to do the update, the headset will likely need to be connected to a hotspot, or signed out by an employee to take home and complete the update on another Wi-Fi connection, then taken back to campus and re-connected to MohawkWifi.
