Module 6: Volunteer Supervision
Reflect and Record
A key part of learning is reflecting on and recording your progress. Below you will see three (3) reflection questions to get you thinking. After taking some time to consider, complete the reflection activity below. In this activity, you will be able to gather, record, and export your thoughts to keep track of your learning progress. We encourage you to use this tool as a means of gauging both your personal and professional development.
Reflection activity
- When it comes to training volunteers within your organization, which format(s) is used most? Do you believe this format is best suited to the volunteer position? Do the training practices of your organization reflect all the reasons why training is important (Presentation Slide 6), and if not, what could be improved?
- What mechanisms for giving and receiving volunteer feedback exist within your organization? What is done well? What is one practice that could be added?
- Reflecting upon your own experience as a volunteer, what have been some of the most meaningful ways in which your contributions have been recognized?
