Student Voices

Five focus groups were held in total. Two focus groups occurred following the fall 2022 semester and three after the 2023 fall course offering. Questions about UDL elements, course activities, and assignments were used to obtain data. Learners in the focus groups related their experiences with key instructional modalities used in the course such as the unfolding case study, group work, scholarly paper with rubric, online weekly units of content highlights, and adaptive quizzing that aligned with textbook readings.

Focus group data can also be grouped according to the impact on the learning environment and learner experiences, considering the strengths and areas for development for each (see Table 3).
