Background
Along with the pressures of beginning a new university program, the COVID-19 pandemic left many students entering their first year of nursing education in a state of uncertainty, anxiety, and stress (Carello & Thompson, 2021; Sherwood et al., 2021). Further, these nursing students are entering into a health care system and profession that are stretched thin for resources (Zhao & Watterson, 2021). Education on trauma, stress management, and resilience are essential to nursing practice, so nurses can take care of themselves and effectively serve others (Butler et al., 2017).
