Self awareness
Self awareness is not one of those things that you learn once and then never look back. It is a lifelong practice, but it has many personal benefits. It is also a very important skill in the helping professions. It can help us to decrease our stress and make better decisions for ourselves; it can also increase our empathy and help us to create a non-judgmental safe space for clients. The problem is, not everyone who is not self-aware actually knows that they are not self-aware! It takes a great deal of vulnerability to work on this skill.
