7 Chapter Template to Follow
Each chapter of the Micro-credential Toolkit and ‘How-To’ Guide must include the following (at a minimum), in the order identified:
- Learning Outcomes
- Content (including interactive elements, multimedia, tips/additional reading blocked off in text boxes, and interactive assessments)
- Key takeaways
For guidelines on how to format – and what to include – in each chapter, we’ve provided the following template:
Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcomes
The Learning Outcomes box is generated automatically by selecting Textboxes > Learning Objectives in the WYSIWYG editor. You will need to change the heading from “objectives” to “outcomes”
Include 2-5 learning outcomes in the textbox. Learning outcomes should contain a measurable action verb that accurately aligns with the level of learning that students should achieve, as per Blooms Taxonomy.

Content
Each chapter should be no more than 5 pages in length (in a Word document). Ontarian, Canadian and international examples may be included and cited to support learning outcomes (please refer to Copyright and Licensing). Examples may vary from case studies, institutional frameworks, templates, models, diagrams, etc. We encourage creativity and utilization of Pressbooks features to include:
- Interactive learning objects built with H5P
- Educational multimedia – pictures, audio clips, videos
- Tips/additional reading blocked off in a text box
Emphasize important content in your chapter by blocking it off with a text box.
