30 Organizing A2L

How did you decide on an organizational approach to Avenue to Learn? What principles or models guided your approach?

EG: I wanted my Avenue page to be clear but comprehensive. My sections under content were as follows:

  • “Need help or support?” (links to various resources) (see below)
  • “Weekly Schedule” (subheadings for each week of the course, including reading links, PDFs, or page ranges, lecture slides, and Zoom link
  • “Lecture Recordings” (the links from above, collected together)
  • “Assignment Guidelines” (as it says on the tin)
  • “Course Readings (Full List)” (alphabetized for easy navigation)
  • “Additional Resources” (links to OWL Purdue, note taking guidelines, etc.)

My goal with this format was to have everything needed for a given week available in one spot. In future (for online or in-person teaching), I think I’d take this a step further and add a checklist or a “week-at-a-glance” graphic to help acquaint students with the flow of the course.
