31 Additional resources on your A2L page

What additional resources did you include on the A2L page? What are some tips for helping students make the most of those resources?

EG: The very first content on my Avenue is, deliberately, the “Need help or support?” tab, with links for topics like, “need to talk to somebody”, or “need someone to walk you home from campus at night?” These links can be added using a pre-set template within Avenue, or you could generate your (expanded) own list to add non-McMaster alternatives, expand the definition of “spiritual care,” etc. The image below shows the full pre-set list.

I also had a folder called “Additional Resources” with things like the OWL Purdue link, writing and note taking tips, etc. Barely a quarter of students viewed these topics. In future, I think I’d encourage TAs to use Avenue affordances like the “Group Lockers” to build resource banks as a group. This may increase engagement with these supports and could introduce the teaching team to new tools or strategies that students are already using.
