Once an assignment is submitted in Brightspace, it is considered final. Resubmissions are only permitted if a member of the teaching team requests one. In such cases, the teaching team will define an eligibility window during which the resubmission can be completed. If a student does not meet this eligibility window, they will receive a grade of 0 for the assignment. Details about any resubmission request, including instructions and the deadline, will be provided in the feedback area within Brightspace.

Early Submission Policy

Students are encouraged to submit assignments ahead of the deadline. If a student wishes to update their submission before receiving feedback, they must submit a nullifying comment to notify the teaching team. This comment should clearly state that the prior submission should not be graded (e.g., “Please ignore this submission as I plan to submit an updated version before the deadline.”). If no nullifying comment is provided, the most recent submission in Brightspace at the time of grading will be considered final.

Resubmissions via the Take-Home Final Exam

As part of the take-home final exam, all students are given an opportunity to resubmit one major deliverable after having received feedback on it earlier in the course. More information about this option can be found in the Student Evaluation Breakdown section of the course materials.

Feedback Process and Timing

Feedback is provided to help students improve their performance on future assessments. It is delivered primarily through completed rubrics and may also include inline comments or general notes. Students can access this feedback by referring to the Brightspace documentation on feedback access.

Remember that students are never “docked” marks in this course; instead, you earn points. This means that you might receive comments or inline feedback that has had no impact on your grade. This is in an attempt to help you improve overall.

The teaching team strives to return feedback within 10 calendar days of the assignment deadline. However, submissions received after the deadline (but before the extended deadline) may experience delays in feedback availability. Submissions after the extended deadline will not be graded.
