Introduction
This Open Educational Resource (OER) contains four chapters that integrate 2SLGBTQ+ content into social work education through the lens of critical data literacy. It is designed to equip social work educators in Canadian Schools of Social Work with the knowledge and tools to guide students in effectively engaging with secondary, quantitative Canadian data as evidence for research, practice, and advocacy with 2SLGBTQ+ communities.
This resource advances CASWE-ACFTS’ commitment to social justice and diversity by promoting anti-homophobic and anti-transphobic approaches to data discovery, interpretation, and analysis. It supports social work education in building inclusive, evidence-informed practices while preparing future practitioners to address structural inequalities affecting 2SLGBTQ+ populations.
