Professional Theatre Integrated Learning
General Notes and Policies
Experiential Learning “supports students in gaining hands-on learning that helps them transition to employment”[1]. Generally speaking, Experiential Learning at Colleges can take the form of co-operative education, degree work placement, clinical/field placement, fieldwork/simulation labs, capstone/applied research projects, and service learning.
In our program, certain classes involve regular visits to outside locations within professional theatre companies.
Attendance at these sites is mandatory to complete these classes.
Working Online or in Studios and Theatres
- Cellphones: The use of cellphones or other electronic devices is disruptive to the Studio environment and can be destructive to our concentration and creative efforts. All cellphones are to be left outside of the studio, in a secure location such as a locker, during class time, or left on silent mode if it is necessary to bring the device into the studio. Checking or charging a device during class-time is not permitted except during emergencies, which will be discussed in advance with the professor.
- These limits apply to online studio environments as well as in-person studios.
- The professors or directors may implement further restrictions or policies around device use in order to facilitate learning and the creativity of the ensemble.
Please remember, professionalism at all times!
Whenever you are online or in the studio, while you’re rehearsing — with peers or by yourself, even in the absence of the director or your professor, all standards and rules of discipline and professional conduct apply.
