SSW Program Mission Statement
The SSW program is committed to social justice ideals and principles. The program is committed to excellence through a dynamic process of teaching and learning which combines connections and partnerships between students, faculty and communities. These connections and partnerships will in turn give students the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for effective social service practice in an ever-changing society.
Program Philosophy
The program philosophy is based upon the fundamental belief in the dignity, worth and potential of all people.
Chairperson
Our Chair, Delon Omrow, is responsible for all programs in the Community Services Department and the supervision of staff. The Chairperson ensures the effective operation of the Community Services Programs and is the contact person if you cannot work out your concerns at the level of assistance with faculty or your Student Success Advisor. Program Coordinator
Our Program Coordinator, Meh-Jabeen Lenzo, provides academic leadership in the coordination of courses, curricula, field placement and the overall Social Service Worker program. Meh-Jabeen can be reached at mlenzo@centennialcollege.ca.
Field Placement Coordinator
Our Field Placement Coordinator, Lynne Winters, supports the field placement process, including matching students to field placements, supporting College Field Supervisors and Agency Field Supervisors and ensuring that field placement processes are in place.
