Meet The Social Profs
About Us
The Social Profs Podcast began at Trent University in 2024, but it is soon to be a global sensation. Each week your hosts, Beth and Kristy, talk with Trent University professors, alumni, and representatives from community organizations. We are (admittedly) amateur podcasters and frankly, we just go with it as part of the fun! The inspiration for this podcast came out of a Teaching Fellowship we have been working on (from 2022-2025) looking at the experiences of students and faculty in the Socio-Legal Specialization and Criminology degree at Trent. We presented on this research at the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE) conference in PEI in 2023. While there, we stopped for what we consider a dinner of (podcasting) champions – beavertails and ice cream! That’s Beth on the left and Kristy on the right. You can see Beth understands how to take a selfie better than Kristy does. Let this be a warning for the technical podcast skills to come….
