Nursing Externship Certificate from Sunnybrook Hospital

Description

The clinical externship role is an unregulated role that is provided to health care students working in their field of interest, such as occupational health, nursing, physiotherapy, etc. In my clinical externship role, I was in the nursing department, where I worked with various interprofessional professions, from regulated to unregulated.

Relevance

I was under the title of an unregulated healthcare provider, and my scope is designed under Sunnybrook Medical Directors and Nursing Division. This certificate reflects my hands-on experience in a high-stakes environment, supporting the trauma ward at Sunnybrook Hospital. The externship role helped to improve my patient care and how I interact with patients and their families. I gained valuable skills from observing and asking questions; my curiosity for knowing beyond patient care and how ADPIE was implemented in a clinical setting highlighted my critical thinking skills. I was able to help Nurses with vital signs, asking observation questions such as their name, place, and time for their consultation. Specifically, in this role, a knowledge test was done on the person about specific procedures under the nursing supervision, such as Foley catheterization, collecting patient surveillance level, and improvising when to notify the nurse when the patient’s condition changes. Letter of Acceptance Nursing admission Registered Nursing Compressed

Description:

The Trent School of Nursing is one of the very well-known universities in Ontario that has been birthing new nurses. The nursing department offers various pathways, ranging from collaborative to compressed. It also allows students with past bachelor’s and diplomas, such as practical nurses, to take the best path for them. The program ranges from a compressed program from two and a half years to four years.

Relevance:

The letter of acceptance with the Trent Framing School is another article from my nursing journey. After graduating from the Seneca practicum nursing program and working as a practical nurse, I always wanted to share my knowledge and patient care. Even though the clinical placement provided great experiences, I believe in furthering my education and moving above the rank, which is equally important. Getting accepted to the Trent Flemming School will allow me to enhance my clinical knowledge and theories and gain various experiences as a registered nurse. This will help to understand patient preferences in different settings compared to being a practicing registered nurse and taking a role that will allow for implementing a leadership position

Letter of acceptance Sunnybrook Hospital for Acute Care Nursing Resource Team

Description:

The acute care nursing resource team at Sunnybrook Hospital is where nurses can float to various units and provide care to different patient demographics. The response team is divided into three main sections: veterans, oncology, trauma, and critical care/ICU. Nursing, from a registered practical nurse to a registered nurse with various competitive certification skills, can be a part of the program of their choice. This allows me to gain knowledge and be in a special position to improve on this standard of care, enhance my knowledge, and be a competent team player.

Relevance

The nursing role at Sunnybrook Hospital was a dream come true; being at Trauma Hospital stroke center and the education and standard of care they provide is an experience I want to be placed in as a competent health care provider. The acute care nursing resource team has two main programs, one in trauma and another in general medicine. The trauma program allows for training on how to take care of various patients with dementia, such as patients with motor vehicle accidents, neurological patients with injuries to the head, cognitive illnesses such as tumors or any other neurological disorders, and especially post-patients with various injuries such as orthopedics, neurosurgery, etc. Furthermore, this program also allows me to continuously enhance my knowledge and always be up-to-date with patient care, as I would also float to remember and deal with other varied patient demographics and be updated day by day with different medications, care, and also how to provide care in different patient demopcs with guidance and upholding their value.

                                 Practical nursing diploma

Description

The practical nursing program at Seneca College is one of the many schools in the chain of budding student nurses to practical registered nurses. The practical-graduated nursing program at Seneca College allows students to enhance their knowledge in health assessment, physiology, nursing skills, nursing theory, and clinical placement to show how to implement the curriculum. This program is different. The bachelor of nursing program focuses more on the foundational skills of nursing and clinical practice, and the curriculum focuses mainly on hands-on care.

Relevance

This nursing diploma represents the foundation of my nursing practice and my experience. Enrolling in their program allowed me to understand the nurse-client relationship and how the health care system operated. Achieving this diploma has allowed me to understand the healthcare system and take on a role in what is meant to be a professional healthcare provider. Through clinical experience, I gained knowledge, applied theoretical understanding in patient care, learned how to advocate for my patients, be a professional, and improved the quality of patient care and teamwork. Ultimately, this became a cornerstone or poster on the wall, reflecting on my journey to becoming a practical research ruse and always reflecting on my practice to expand my knowledge and achieve more.
