Introduction to Supplementary Activities

This section contains activities that I have created or adapted over the last 25 years. I have used these activities extensively and successfully. Most of the activities require no specific instructions or special materials.

Most of the ideas come from my experience, but some are adaptations of ideas collected from workshops and seminars. Some of them are a variation of well-known games (e.g., Dominoes and Tic-Tac-Toe), some are original project-based ideas (e.g. Home Remedies and Country Project), and some are an adaptation of out-of-the-box ideas developed by other teachers (e.g., Verbs in Movement).

These supplementary activities are not related to RPAs. Rather, they are self-contained activities that teachers can use at any time.  However, these activities have proven very useful when an RPA unveils some language gaps. I then seize the moment and address the gaps by using one of these activities.
