Completion Time for Program

Assignments

Please refer to the policies outlined in the “Health Sciences Department Policies” of this manual.  Please note that in the RN Perioperative Nursing Program, the following will also apply:

If an extension on an assignment’s due date is not requested by the student prior to the date it is expected, or if the extension is denied, then the assignment must be completed by the specified date.  The penalty for submission of a late assignment is a deduction of 5% per day off of the grade earned on the assignment.

Missed Tests

Attendance is compulsory for all scheduled tests and examinations.

A student missing an evaluative method must contact the professor prior to the test/exam/assignment and clarify the reason for absence*. Failure to notify your teacher of your absence in advance will result in a grade of zero for that evaluative method.

*Written documentation is required to support claims of extenuating circumstances, i.e. illness or death of a family member.

At the teacher’s discretion, students arriving late for a test or exam, may not be admitted and, if admitted, may not be allowed additional time. However, students arriving after other students have exited the examination hall will not be allowed to take the test or exam.

Students Experiencing Difficulty

Students who are experiencing difficulty with a course are strongly recommended to consult with their professor early on in the semester so that learning strategies may be reviewed.  Additional resources/services are also available to the student on campus to aid in the success with the program. (Please refer to the “Student Services” section of this manual.) Every attempt will be made to support student learning and performance with the evaluation tools listed in the course outline.
