There are several ways in which information about the College and your program will be communicated to you as well as ways in which you can connect with professors and School staff.
The college will post information on the centennial website. If you need further information you can contact the program coordinator at claudiawilliams@centennialcollege.ca

Make sure you regularly monitor your myCentennial email account. This is your official email account for College-related business.
Luminate Announcements
Luminate is the College’s learning management system where you will access an online learning environment for all your courses. Students are encouraged to regularly check the Announcements in their Luminate course shells for important course information, updates, reminders, changes, class resources, and new information from professors and department administration.
Communication Norms
RN Perioperative Nurses are required to function as effective members of health care teams. As such, the same expectations related to professionalism and effective communication will be stressed in classrooms and labs. The following communication norms shall govern classroom etiquette and all group work.
Each student is expected to:
- Promote and maintain a safe and non-judgmental learning environment
- Participate in discussions with an open mind
- Demonstrate respect for differences (eg. opinions, experiences, choices, learning styles)
Use of Electronics in the Classroom
Students are asked to turn off their cell phones while in class. If a student is expecting an important call during class, then he/she is asked to turn the phone to “vibrate” and to sit near the door for the duration of that class so as not to disturb other students when exiting the room to respond to the call. No calls are to be made or answered in the classroom.
Students choosing to use a laptop in class are required to use it for instructional purposes only. That is, if the professor deems that the activities done with the laptop are not for educational purposes and/or use of the laptop is disruptive/distracting for others, then the laptop must be turned off. Discussion around continued use of the laptop in class will need to take place with the professor and/or program coordinator before the unit may be used again.
