Progression Requirements
Minimum B+ (75 percent) grade in theoretical component and a pass grade in lab and clinical.
Readmission Policy and Procedure:
- Should a student be unsuccessful in NP 411 &/or NP 412 and has been granted re-admission to repeat the course(s) in the immediate subsequent semester, it is expected that the student will repeat the failed course(s) and the co-requisite*.
- The number of repeats allowed for a course in the Health Sciences department programs is 1 (ONE).
- A Student who is unsuccessful in NP 403 must meet with the program coordinator to determine the next course of action.
- If a student is granted readmission into NP 403, the course must be completed in the immediate subsequent semester.
Sequence:
- In order to proceed to NP 403 (clinical practicum), the student must successfully complete both NP 411 & NP 412.
- Students must complete NP 403 immediately after successfully completing NP 411 & NP 412.
The following indicates these requirements:
- Promotion from course to course is governed by the prerequisites stated for the individual courses. Please refer to the Model Route.
- All courses and clinical placement experiences in the RN Perioperative Nursing Program must be satisfactorily completed for eligibility for graduation from Centennial College.
Completion time for Program
The RN Perioperative Nursing Program must be completed within a maximum of one academic year from the time of initial enrolment.
Graduation Requirements
Students must pass all courses on the model route and any other program requirements, including experiential learning (e.g., co-operative education, field/clinical placements, etc.), in order to graduate.
Students must also achieve an overall program Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 to be eligible to graduate.
Students must complete the requirements of the program in effect at the time of graduation unless the Dean or designate approves alternative arrangements in writing. This requirement includes any changes made to future semesters during the student’s studies but does not include changes in semesters that have already been completed unless required for the future semester courses.
