This section provides an overview of only a few important policies that are key to students’ academic success. However, students are responsible for familiarizing themselves with all College policies that cover academic matters and student conduct. All College policies can be accessed on the College Policies webpage.
Assignment Extension Policy
Specific to the Recreation and Leisure services core courses (this does not apply to courses that do not have the program code RECL in them), we have adopted an Assignment Extension Policy. Students may request an extension on certain assignments; however, these requests must be made in writing and submitted to the professor at least seven (7) days prior to the due date and extensions will only be given based on each individual professors’ discretion and entirely dependent on the circumstances.
Late Assignment Policy
Specific to some of the Recreation and Leisure services core courses (this does not apply to courses that do not have the program code RECL in them), we have adopted a Late Assignment Policy. Certain assignments can be handed in late, with a penalty of 5% per day, up to 5 days late. This is up to the professors’ discretion and entirely dependent on the assignment.
Missed Class Policy
It is the students’ responsibility to make up all material and curriculum missed and not the responsibility of the professors. Please ensure to have a study partner to help catch you up. Although professors will be encouraged to post all material on eCentennial, it is at the discretion of each individual professor as to when and what they will post. If students require extra help to get caught up on missed material, it is recommended that they make an appointment with the professor.
