Articulate

What is Articulate?

Articulate is a suite of apps that the RRT has a limited license for. These apps allow us to create training and educational modules (Rise 360) as well as gamified learning activities (escape rooms & Jeopardy)

Delivery:

Articulate assets can be embedded as SCORM files into pages or assignment in MyCanvas and/or shared with a review link.

Reporting

Escape rooms do offer minimal tracking, they can be added as assignments in MyCanvas and marked as complete/incomplete in gradebook. Most faculty choose to include escape rooms as a fun review activity done in breakout rooms or as an optional study aide.

Escape Rooms

What are Escape Rooms?

A virtual escape room is an activity designed to gamify learning. Learners interact with a virtual room that is designed based on the Subject Matter Experts (SME) specifications (e.g. hospital room, home, classroom, etc.). By clicking around the room, learners will uncover “clues” which are activities or questions developed by the SME based on the course curriculum; clues can also be videos the learners must watch before moving on. Once the learner completes the question, activity or video successfully, they will earn a key. Escape rooms can have an unlimited number of clues/keys and can expand into multiple rooms.

Our escape rooms are built in the platform Articulate Storyline 360, for which only RRT has a license.

Considerations:

Escape rooms are built from scratch and thus have a turn around time of about 2-4 weeks. Depending on the complexity of the activity, it may not be appropriate for individuals with visual impairments or other vision-related challenges.
