2.1 PSW Clinical Professional Practice Roles & Responsibilities

The Clinical Professional Practice placement experiences are an integral part of the Personal Support Worker program. It is the opportunity for a PSW student to connect theory and education learned in a lab setting to practice in a healthcare setting. It also provides the PSW students with mentorship, resources and additional review and practice time to learn and develop job skills for the future to become a strong excellent Personal Support Worker.
The Clinical Professional Practice placement is a collaborative experience that includes a partnership between healthcare agency staff and mentors, Fanshawe College Clinical Instructors/Placement Advisors, and the PSW students. The Clinical Professional Practice Partnership aims to achieve collaboration, support, guidance, and provide an opportunity for a successful Personal Support Worker education clinical placement.
