3 SMART Goals
Goal 1: Obtain an 85% average.
Specific: I aim to achieve an 85% average in nursing school next semester by focusing on efficient study habits and regular review sessions.
Measurable: I will monitor my progress by tracking my grades on each assignment and test. I will calculate my average monthly to ensure I am on track.
Achievable: I will dedicate at least 15 hours per week to focused study time, break down complex topics into manageable parts, and actively participate in study groups to reinforce my understanding.
Realistic: Maintaining an 85% average is essential for my personal and professional growth as a nurse and may allow me to have opportunities to further my nursing education in the future.
Time-bound: I will have an 85% average in school by the end of next semester in April 2025.
Goal 2: Improve communication skills with residents in NURS 1020.
Specific: I will improve my communication skills by learning to engage effectively and empathetically with residents, focusing on adapting my approach to meet individual needs.
Measurable: This goal is measurable by tracking the frequency and quality of interactions with residents, such as the number of positive conversations or resident feedback collected weekly.
Achievable: This goal is achievable with practice and feedback from my instructor. I will focus on communication strategies and empathetic techniques during my clinical hours.
Realistic: Building rapport and improving communication skills are essential to effective nursing practice, especially in long-term care settings. Understanding residents’ needs can significantly impact their well-being.
Time-bound: I will achieve this goal throughout and by the end of my placement in April 2025.
