Course Exemptions

Students who wish to apply for a course exemption must complete the Online Exemption Form available through MyMohawk. For full details, visit the Course Exemption page on Mohawk College’s website.

Application Process

• Submit your exemption request before the semester begins.
• All exemption decisions (approved or denied) will be finalized by the end of the Add/Drop period.
• Required documents must be submitted to The Square.

Required Documentation

• Official transcripts in a sealed envelope
• Course outlines for courses completed outside of Mohawk College
• International credentials must be validated by an international accreditation service

Important Notes for Practical Nursing Students

• Nursing core courses may not be eligible for an exemption.
• Exemptions for non-nursing courses (e.g., communications, electives etc.) are directed to the appropriate department for review and processing and are not managed within the nursing department.
