Introduction
Dear Student,
The Centre for Experiential Learning at Mohawk College hopes that you find your work-integrated learning (WIL) placement to be rewarding and educational. This is your opportunity to apply your academic knowledge to the world of work.
The responsibilities and procedures outlined in the following document are guidelines to maintain the integrity and reputation of Mohawk College’s placement activities. The guidelines allow for consistency and quality of program delivery to our two main stakeholders: the placement student and the industry partner.
As the student, it is your responsibility to become familiar with and adhere to these guidelines in order to ensure a rewarding placement experience. Lack of knowledge of these guidelines does not constitute a valid defense should an incident arise. The Centre for Experiential Learning reserves the right to take appropriate action if the student does not adhere to the placement responsibilities and procedures. In some instances, this may include an Incomplete or Fail grade assigned to your placement credit.
Field Placement Support Officers are here to guide you through the steps necessary to participate in the placement. In order to be successful, it is vital that you participate fully in the placement processes. It is up to you to make the most of the opportunity.
We look forward to supporting your career development.
Sincerely,
The Centre for Experiential Learning
