Gamma Spectroscopy

Data Analysis

  1. Show your measurement of the background radiation. Fit the \ce{^{40}K} peak in Python using the Breit-Wigner distribution. Show your calibration equation using the \ce{^{40}K} peak.
  2. Use the data from all of the measured isotopes to calibrate the detector using a weighted, least-squares fit. Is the result statistically different from the calibration using \ce{^{40}K}?
