Electron Diffraction

Data Analysis

  1. Plot \sin{\theta} as a function of diffraction index m for each laser colour. Account for the sign of the angle so that you have a straight line with 5 points. Use the slopes to determine d – the distance between gaps in the diffraction grating – from each laser.
  2. Does using a different colour light have a statistically significant effect on the measurement of d? Compare your three measurements to determine that.
