Brewster’s Angle

Data Analysis

Note that there is no least-squares fit in this data analysis.

  1. Show plots of your data from the ‘Exploring Polarization’ section of the Procedure. Use your measurements to explain that the microwaves are indeed linearly polarized.
  2. Show plots of your data from the Brewster’s angle measurements. Which polarization was able to pass through the polyethylene?
  3. State your value for Brewster’s angle. Use your value to determine the index of refraction of polyethylene.  Compare to the accepted value.
