Charge to Mass Ratio

Data Analysis

  1. Plot your precision current and radius measurements but choose x- and y-axis variables so that your data would be well-fit by a linear trend. (HINT:  you’ll have to square some variables).
  2. Use the slope of your linear trend to determine e/m for the electron and its uncertainty, and compare it to the CODATA value of 1.75882000838 × 1011 C/kg.
  3. Send your precision measurement of the charge to mass ratio to Dr. FitzGreen. Preferably via Teams message.
