Planck’s Constant

Being more methodical!

  1. Re-examine the onset of exponential growth of the current from the photocathode. For one iris setting, fit the mostly-horizontal part of the data to a line, and fit the mostly-vertical part of the data to a different line. Deduce the intersection of these lines (and its uncertainty) and designate that voltage as the retarding-potential-at-onset. Show plots of your data with these fits applied.
  2. Summarize the results from the previous step in a plot of retarding-potential-at-onset Vs frequency.
  3. Calculate h and its uncertainty, and compare your value to the one you determined from your `by-eye’ analysis. Comment on any differences or similarities in these numbers, and how they compare to the CODATA value for h
