Thermal Conductivity of Gases
Add To Your Report
- Show the temperature vs pressure plot. Fit a straight line to the first bit of data at high pressure and fit a line to the last bit of data at low pressure. Show these fits on the same plot as your data.
- You’ve been measuring your pressure in volts so far, which is fine. State this pressure where those lines intersect, in volts, with its uncertainty. Use the calibration chart in the Appendix to convert that voltage to a unit of pressure. FYI: The intersection of these lines occurs at the pressure at which the mean free path of gas molecules in the vacuum chamber is equal to the space between the cylinders.
