3.1 Hardware

You will be using the PASCO circuit components shown in Figure 5. The little black squares fit together nicely and have the circuit component symbol drawn on them. The little metal clips connect the components. Two important notes about the circuit components:

1. When you connect the two 1.5 V batteries to make a 3 V source, connect the opposite polarities: | + −|| + −|. Then the pair will still have a positive side and a negative side.
2. When you are changing circuit components, make sure to remove the batteries from their black square AND OPEN the switch. Then, when your circuit is ready, insert the batteries then CLOSE the switch.

3.2 Software

You will be using the CAPSTONE software for data acquisition. Please watch the recorded video on how to use that software.
