Statistics on your calculator
Add instructions for how to find mean and standard deviation using McMaster Standard Calculator (Casio 991)
Written instructions:
- Press the “SHIFT” button
- Press the “MODE/CLR” button
- Press “3” to clear all memory.
- Press “=” twice to confirm. The memory is now erased.
- Press “MODE” twice.
- Press “1” to enter SD mode.
- Enter data points by first typing the number, then pressing the “M+” button. (This example will be using 4,5,6 as data points)
- Press “SHIFT” then “2” (S-VAR) to access the stats menu.
- From this menu, press “1” to find the average, or mean (x bar). The average of the example data is 5.
- From the same menu, press “3” to find the standard uncertainty. The std. uncert. of the example data is 1.
