Quadratic Formula on your calculator
The following is the instructions to solve for roots of a quadratic equation.
Written instructions:
- Press “Mode” three (3) times
- Press “1” to select the EQN mode
- Press “Mode” once
- Press “2” to select the second degree equation (quadratic). You will enter the coefficients of the equation of this format:
- Enter the value of “a” and press “=”
- Enter the value of “b” and press “=”
- Enter the value of “c” and press “=”
- The screen will now show the value of the first root (x1). Press “=” to get the second root (x2). Pressing “=” again will let you modify the coefficients you entered.
- To return to the normal calculator mode, press “Mode” and then “1” for COMP.
