About the employee orientation
Who should take the PHIPA employee orientation?
Only applies to Brock’s units that provide health care on the University’s behalf (annually required by Brock’s 3 health care providers who act as Health Information Custodians within the context of the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) as follows:
- Student Health Services
- Personal Counselling Services
- Brock Sports Medicine Clinic
What does the orientation include?
- Part 1 – Understanding of PHIPA Fundamentals
- Part 2 – Collection, Use & Disclosure
- Part 3 – Consent
- Part 4 – Breach of Personal Health Information
- Part 5 – Access & Correction
- Part 6 – Your Working Environment
- Part 7 – Records Management
This training, including the quiz at the end, should take approximately 45 minutes. Once completed, forward your confirmation of completion to your supervisor.
Your access to this orientation will remain anonymous. We are simply asking for your user name and password to limit the orientation to Brock University employees, and to allow you to resume the orientation should you be interrupted.
