Exit Options

If you decide to withdraw from a course or program, you must connect with the Success Advisor to discuss the implications of dropping a course or withdrawing from the program.

Withdrawing from a course or program without academic penalty must be done officially by submitting a Withdrawal Form or Course Add/Drop Form to the Enrolment Services Office before or by the withdrawal deadline date.

Pathways to other Programs/Partners

The Performing Arts Fundamentals program provides the opportunity for direct entry into Centennial College’s School of Communications, Media, Arts and Design programs such as: Dance Performance (two-year diploma), Music Industry Arts and Performance (three-year advanced diploma) or Theatre Arts and Performance (three-year advanced diploma).

In order to move directly from PAFS into one of Centennial College’s diploma programs (without auditioning or submitting a portfolio), the following minimum grade requirements apply:

To progress into the Dance Performance program:

  • minimum 90% in DANC-102: Jazz 1 and PAFS-101: Intro to Commercial Dance
  • minimum 60% in all PAFS courses and semester 2 Arts Elective
  • minimum 50% in COMM and GNED courses

To progress into the Music Industry Arts and Performance program:

  • minimum 80% in MIAP-180: Private Lesson 1 and PAFS-103: Intro to Music
  • minimum 60% in all PAFS courses and semester 2 Arts Elective
  • minimum 50% in COMM and GNED courses

To progress into the Theatre Arts and Performance program:

  • minimum 85% in THEA-120: Script Reading and Analysis 1 and PAFS-102: Intro to Acting
  • minimum 60% in all other PAFS courses and semester 2 Arts Elective
  • minimum 50% in COMM and GNED courses

Specialized Academic Certificates

You can use your General Education (GNED) elective courses to fulfill the requirements for a Specialized Academic Certificate. Specialized Academic Certificate programs provide an opportunity for students registered in a Diploma or Advanced Diploma program to earn an additional certificate concurrently with their diploma. In order to obtain a Specialized Academic Certificate, you must successfully complete GNED500 plus the three GNED courses required by the Specialized Academic Certificate program. The GNED courses will also fulfill the elective GNED requirements of the diploma program. Currently the Specialized Academic Certificate programs are

  • Indigenous Studies: First Peoples in Canada,
  • Inclusive Leadership Practices,
  • Entrepreneurism, and
  • Black Studies.
