Program Learning Resources and Facilities

Labs aka Studio

PAFS studio classes will take place the Performing Arts Centre (PAC) at 2200 Eglinton Ave East.

Please note that the PAC is accessible by myCard, therefore you must have your student ID with you every time you come to campus, so you can get through the front door.

Rules for the studios are as follows:

– No food in any studios. Water only is permitted. No glass containers.
– No outdoor shoes inside the studios. Shoes should be placed on the mats outside the studios.
– Lockers and/or large cabinets are available for storage of bags and personal items. Please bring your own lock.
– There are 2 change rooms and 2 central bathrooms plus an all-gender and accessible bathroom with a shower. The change rooms and central bathrooms are labelled by gender, but we recognized that a gender binary does not work for all students. Please use the change room and bathroom for the gender with which you most closely identify.
– We strongly encourage students to eat and socialize in the lounge areas or outside. A fridge, microwaves, sink and a kettle are available for student use in the kitchenette, but there is no cafeteria or food sold at the PAC. The closest cafeteria is at Ashtonbee Campus (a 20-minute walk from the PAC).
– A Code of Conduct for behaviour in the studios should be signed on the first day
– Injury Waivers may be needed for some classes

Equipment

Equipment such as cameras and microphones are available to students for project and class use from the Equipment Room at the Story Arts Centre.

There may be limited access to Centennial’s rental equipment. For your health and safety, follow any posted protocols (e.g., physical distancing, cleaning, etc.).

Software

Students have access to industry-leading software packages and bundles that can be found in rooms, labs, and podiums across all main campuses. Computers at each campus will be loaded with the applications for use in your courses. To access these features, you must log in to the network using your student number. You can see a comprehensive list of software and software packages installed by room and by campus here.

Digital Resources

Students should have the Zoom app installed on the computer they will be using to attend online and blended classes.

Library Collections

There are several eResources available to you through the Centennial College Libraries that may be useful in your studies (note that you must be logged into myCentennial to access these resources):

Instructors may make course readings available online through the eReserves service in eCentennial or as physical items that can be borrowed from a campus library on short-term loan. If your instructor is using eReserves, you will see a module in the course content on eCentennial. The list may include links to library resources like databases, articles, and eBooks; book chapters; web links; and open educational resources. Check your course outline or contact your instructor for information about where your assigned course readings are located.
