Experiential Learning Requirements

Experiential Learning “supports students in gaining hands-on learning that helps them transition to employment”[1]. Experiential Learning can take the form of co-operative education, degree work placement, clinical/field placement, fieldwork/simulation labs, capstone/applied research projects, and service learning.
In Performing Arts Fundamentals, you will have capstone performances that take place outside of class time at the end of each semester. Final performance projects for PAFS 101, PAFS 102, PAFS 103, DANC-102 and MIAP-180 may be assessed during the PAFS First-Semester Showcase. The final performance projects for PAFS 202, DANC-204, and MIAP-181 may be assessed during the PAFS Final Show at the end of second semester.
PAFS-201: Intro to Arts Industry has an experiential learning module consisting of tours of professional performing arts facilities and working with/shadowing a mentor in the performing arts industry. You must complete a minimum of 8 hours working with your mentor as well as attend all tours in order to be eligible for full marks in this module.
