Expectations
All jobs in the Studio are hybrid roles. It is expected that team members are on campus working 2 days a week. Expectations while working in the Studio can be found below.
Communication
- Communication with OER Design Team members should be done between the hours of 8 A.M. – 4 P.M. during weekdays.
- Monitor email and chat and respond within an appropriate timeframe.
- Attend all scheduled meetings and be prepared to participate and engage with the team.
- During video meetings, cameras should be turned on.
Project Management
- Work tasks will be assigned using the project management software.
- It is expected that the work assigned is done on time, and if issues with meeting deadlines are anticipated, they are communicated to the project lead.
- Status updates should be provided regularly.
- All updates on the project or communication with the SME should be recorded in the project management software.

Studio Expectations
The Studio team members will:
- Provide resources or direct faculty to the librarians for support with research.
- Format content in Pressbooks based on the work provided.
- Suggest openly licensed images or create images where needed based on a design submitted by the faculty.
- Create graphs or tables based on the data provided.
- Provide resources or direct faculty to support with referencing and attributions
Subject Matter Expert (Faculty or Staff) Expecations
The SME will:
- Identify gaps in content or topic areas that require additional research.
- Provide content weekly per the Project Plan for formatting in Pressbooks.
- Provide suggestions for graphics and images.
- Provide data for any graphs that need to be developed.
- Add references for copyright works used in APA format and provide proper citations.
- Create chapter summaries.
- Create a key terms list or review list generated by the Studio.
Student Roles
Part-Time
- Work hours can be flexible up to 11 pm on weekdays. No work should be done on the weekend (unless previously approved) or on holidays.
- Part-time work is up to a maximum of 24 hours a week. Note: this may be less for international students, depending on allowable hours.
- A schedule of availability should be provided, and time should be blocked out for work dedicated to the studio so that project work can be appropriately managed.
Full-Time Co-op
- Work will be done during regular business hours (8-4).
- Weekly hours are 35 (7 hours a day with a 1-hour break).
