Expectations

Expectations while working in the Studio can be found below.

Communication

  • Communication with OER Design Team members should be done between the hours of 8am – 4pm during weekdays.
  • Respond to emails within one business day (24 hours).
  • Attend all scheduled meetings and be prepared to participate and engage with the team.
  • Please turn on your camera during video meetings.

Project Management

  • Work tasks will be assigned within Asana.
  • It is expected that the work assigned is done on time, and if issues are anticipated with meeting deadlines, it is communicated to the project lead.
  • Status updates should be provided regularly.
  • All updates on the project or communication with the SME should be recorded in the project management software.

Student Roles

Part-Time

  • Work hours can be flexible up to 11 pm on weekdays. No work should be done on the weekend (unless previously approved) or on holidays.
  • Part-time work is up to a maximum of 24 hours a week. Note: this may be less for international students, depending on allowable hours.
  • A schedule of availability should be provided, and time should be blocked out for work dedicated to the studio so that project work can be appropriately managed.
  • While the work is remote, international students must work from within Canada for their work contract.

Full-Time Co-op

  • Work will be done during regular business hours (8-4).
  • Weekly hours are 35 (7 hours a day with a 1-hr break)
  • While the work is remote, international students must work from within Canada for their work contract.
