16 Activity: Harness the Potential of Students

Consider these questions

As you are planning to incorporate OERs in part or all of your course, consider if there might be an opportunity to create some of that content with your students. Begin by reflecting on these two questions:

  • Who could benefit from content created by your students? Think beyond your course, beyond the semester and beyond Centennial.
  • How will your students benefit from publishing openly?

Now let’s brainstorm: What type of content could your students create?

Planning a co-creation experience

There are several things to consider when planning a co-creative activity with your students. It’s important to plan ahead and scaffold the experience so it is a positive and supportive one for your learners. If this is something that interests you, please reach out if we can be of any assistance (brainstorming, planning, implementation, etc).

Planning a co-creation experience activity

Consider how and when you can engage students in your OER creation. Use the OER Incubator Activity Sheet to keep track of your work, and notes from other activities. You can create a copy of the activity sheet for use in your own Google Drive, or download a Word version to work from.
