Self Debrief Questions
In the virtual simulation, you were asked to assess an older adult for frailty in their home.
You were able to view the nurse, the patient and the family member in the simulation. The following is a series of self-debrief questions to guide your reflection on your virtual simulation experience. These questions will help you reflect on the decisions you made throughout the scenario, and how they will influence your future clinical practice.
There are 7 self-debrief questions:
-
How did you feel while completing the virtual simulation?
-
Were you satisfied with your ability to identify pertinent cues and your ability to respond to the patient and family member?
-
What did you learn when identifying the cues related to frailty and the interventions that could be used to help manage the impact of frailty?
- How would you navigate the scenario differently if you could? What decisions would you keep the same? What decision would you change?
- What three things did you learn? How will you use the things you learned in your clinical practice?
- Not everyone works their way through the scenario perfectly. What can you take away from the incorrect decisions/responses you may have made?
- What questions remain unanswered for you in relation to this simulation?
