Stop One – What is Trip Preparedness?

Introducing Trip Preparedness

Trip Preparedness is an online professional development learning opportunity designed for educational assistants, occasional teachers,  full-time educators/administrators, outdoor education specialists, youth program coordinators and beyond.

Community trips, near and afar, day and overnight (and international), sporting events, school clubs and extracurricular activities for schoolteachers, educational institutions and trips for yourself or for your family require thoughtful planning and consideration.

Learners will actively put together a trip of their choice following the template, safety guidelines and examples provided by Bill Steer, educator, school board trustee, and founder of the Canadian Ecology Centre, an outdoor environmental education centre.  Direct feedback will be provided to every participant by Mr. Steer and a digital badge will be issued in recognition of successful completion.

This learning opportunity will be open for four-weeks and should take approximately twenty hours to complete.

The instructor Bill Steer’s bio is here; he has an extensive career in outdoor/environmental education.
