Stop Five – Submission

Overview of Template & Submission

You have a trip planning template as a process checklist; STOP Two. You have examples to follow for ideas and suggestions.   You have gone to your trip destination, twice or worked with the third party provider.

The following is an overview for your final submission. The questions will help you with what is needed.

It is an “infomercial.” It has to be informative with some zest!

Please send as a PowerPoint or PDF to: extendedlearning@nipissingu.ca

Theme

Is the theme applicable, as a trip linked to a purpose?  Is there rationale for the trip through industry, sport or education guidelines/policies?  Are there benefits for the participant in taking this trip?

Risk and Safety

Have many areas of hazards/risk been located and detailed with an explanation?    Are these areas mitigated with safety procedures or preparation?  Have these been identified within the ‘My Maps’ link?  Is there a mustering area in the case of an emergency?  Would a participant or parent feel “good” about taking this trip? Do you (the author) understand risk as per existing guidelines (organization) OPHEA guidelines noted in the Content section?

Maps

There will static maps (screen shots) at various scale denoting details.  There has to be a route from somewhere in the community (where you are starting) to the destination.   It does not begin at the site.  There should be a route or pathway at the site documented in the ‘My Maps’ and your static map shots (where the participants are going.)  Does the ‘My Maps’ link work?  Are there many photos and dialogue boxes that support the entire trip preparation package?    Are the messages consistent throughout the presentation?   Is there a contact information slide?  Is there an engaging first and final slide(s)?    What makes this trip different?  Does the presentation answer the “5 W’s?”  Do the labels, cut lines or bullet points with the slides relate well to the purpose of the photo?   YOUR MAP LINK GOES ON THE FIRST SLIDE.

Presentation

Are the graphics clean and well organized?  Has attention to style and colour been taken/utilized?  Are the photos indicative of the theme?   Did you take them?  If Internet photos are used for clarity is there a corresponding photo taken by the author?  Is there evidence of editing  (what is the tolerance for mistakes)?   Are proper nouns “properly” capitalized?
