Stop Three – Safety Management

Avoid Shortcuts

Do not fall into the “heuristic” chasm. Heuristics are mental shortcuts for solving problems in a quick way that delivers a result that is sufficient enough to be useful given time constraints. Such as,

“Bill knows the way,”

or

“The weather will be fine.”

There should always be two leaders. Decisions are not made with shortcuts. Any hazard or variable has to be assessed.
