Acknowledgements: Text Adoption, Adaptation, and Compilation

{1} Technical Writing Essentials/Introduction to Professional Communication in the Technical Fields, by Suzan Last, is used as the base text for this open educational resource (OER).  I am grateful to Suzan Last and her co-authors for creating this material and sharing with others.  I would also like to thank the authors of the other materials that appear in the text, some of whom wish to be unnamed (institutional attributions are typically given in those cases).

{2} For most of the text, the original source material remains intact, but the text has not merely been adopted: minor adaptations occur throughout, though some of these adaptations are merely realignments of links with newly numbered or ordered sections.  I have tried to identify the main author of every chapter-section to acknowledge the original author(s).  Each chapter-section ends with an acknowledgement that identifies the original source license.  Any changes to the originals are my responsibility and have not been reviewed or approved by the original authors.  I have only identified myself as author when I have composed the whole of a section.  For the most part, however, my task has been one of compiling and editing existing resources and materials.

{3} In addition to the base text mentioned above, other materials have also been used in the compilation of the text, and the original sources of this material are also identified in notes at the end of each section.
