3 Accommodations and Mental Health
Accommodations and Mental Health
The accommodations process for students with mental health disabilities is the same as for someone with a learning disability. One of the primary differences between these two is that mental health disabilities are often episodic, so a student may not use their accommodations all the time. The student would decide what they require and when. One cannot assume that because they haven’t used them in one semester or one test, that they won’t need them in the subsequent semester or test etc.
Mental health can have a significant impact on student accommodations in post-secondary education.
