Below are lists of artefacts that have contributed to my journey of being a registered nurse.

My first Artefact is a picture of me the podium with the Niagara College President Sean Kennedy on my graduation day in Fall 2022. I was excited about this day for two reasons: One being the fact that I was earning a Canadian credential. Looking back at where I am coming from, this was huge and having to share the stage with the college president was a huge honor done me. Second being that I was stepping into the Canadian health system well groomed and skilled enough to make an impact on the lives of the vulnerable in society, it was exciting and humbling at the same time. This marked the beginning of my journey into the Canadian healthcare system and subsequently into my nursing journey, here at Trent University.

Artefact 2 is the offer letter of admission to Trent University and hence marked the beginning of another milestone. I was lucky enough to have gained admission on my very first attempt and I only actually applied to Trent University without considering other schools. I felt very comfortable with studying nursing here and the focus areas here was a reason for the choice. It was exciting seeing my dream come through. I faced some challenges along the way and had to defer the program but then also had to make a quick U-turn and still had my admission back without challenges. For me, it was an indication of right timing for my study and Trent University here for me as well. I am looking forward to the opportunity that studying nursing at Trent whilst residing in Peterborough has to offer.

The above is the certificate confirming my basic life support training. I was nervous going into this training as I was not sure of the expectations. It went pretty well and our instructor was pretty kind and patient. I remember him pulling me aside after the training and made sure I got a particular skill right before leaving the classroom. I walked out fully skilled and confident to help patients and family dealing with life threatening emergency basic life support for survival. I am happy and proud about this achievement as this will be one the important skills I will need in my nursing career in future.
