3 How Do Students Access Official Accommodations?
Accommodations are solely based on the individual, meaning no two students are the same. To put it simply, there is no cookie-cutter accommodation that can be put in place to meet the needs of every student in your class.
- Students need to meet with a coordinator from SAS to access official accommodations.

- MUSC B101 – SAS Testing Center.
- This includes if a student has yet to receive a diagnosis. SAS can help students navigate the Student Wellness Center (SWC) to access diagnosis.

Official Accommodations
There are many accommodations that you may see on accessibility letters, and student supply evidence supporting their needs directly through SAS, by the time you receive accommodations they have already been proven and approved. You will be notified of the accommodations in a letter that will contain the students name, student number and a list of their required accommodations. Some accommodations you may commonly see are:
- Time extensions on quizzes/tests/exams
- Time between quizzes/tests/exams
- Alternative locations to write tests/exams in
- Software (Dragon, Kurzweil, MathType, etc.) approved to be used during quizzes/tests/exams
- Ability to audio record lectures
- Alternative assessment for missed class/work/tests, presentations, class discussions
- Reserved seating in class
- Instructor is requested to face students when speaking
