Michael Quartermain, BCom, LLM, MPACS, CSCMP, CAPM, QMed., a distinguished Professor at Conestoga College’s School of Business, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the academic arena. With a rich tapestry of credentials, he champions the confluence of education and industry expertise. 🙌

Michael joined Conestoga College in 2019, eventually transitioning to full-time status in 2021, where he has left an indelible mark.

Michael’s educational journey spans from a Bachelor of Commerce at York University to a Masters of Law from Osgoode Hall Law School and a Masters of Peace & Conflict Studies at the University of Waterloo. Complementing his academic prowess, he holds several esteemed certifications, including Certified Supply Chain Manager Professional (CSCMP), Certified Associate Project Manager (CAPM), Chartered Manager (CMgr), and Qualified Mediator (QMed), among others. ✔

At the heart of his work lies a passion for the intersection of business and sustainability. He believes that businesses serve as beacons of hope in addressing sustainability challenges. His dedication has earned him a place in the Prestigious Marquis Who’s Who Biographical Registry in 2023.

Michael also played a pivotal role in developing the first synchronous and a-synchronous Carbon Literacy Training program in Canada, a noteworthy achievement offered through Conestoga’s Continuing Education offerings. 💻

He is also an active member of the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) committee, contributing to the college’s mission of embracing sustainability in management programs. ♻

Michael’s teaching philosophy is simple yet profound: ‘The only way you can truly know what you’ve learned is by teaching it to someone else.’ This fuels his enthusiasm each term as he imparts his wisdom and eagerly learns from his students’ unique perspectives. ✏

His commitment to lifelong learning is unwavering. Most recently, he completed a course on Circular Economy & Sustainability at Cambridge University, Judge School of Business, underscoring his dedication to staying at the forefront of knowledge.
