Innovation in teaching and learning is more critical today than ever before. As we navigate through the 21st century, we are witnessing a rapid evolution of technology (e.g. AI, virtual & augmented reality, robotics), the internet of things (everything) and shifts in the global socio-political environments. This requires educators to adapt transformative and active teaching methods to ensure that learners acquire new skills and knowledge relevant to the changing world. Innovative teaching methods, such as interactive learning, digital platforms, and experiential learning, can cater to diverse learning styles and pique students’ curiosity. They can also foster critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills, vital in today’s dynamic and interconnected world. Moreover, innovation in education can help bridge the gap between theory and practice, making learning more engaging and effective. Embracing innovation in teaching and learning is not an option but a necessity in our evolving society.
