Major Assignment: Abolition over Small Fixes_ A Look at the Canadian Senate.docx
This class looked at the structure of government in Canada, focusing on the House of Commons, Senate, and Supreme Court. We looked at the purposes of these institutions, issues within them, and suggestions for reform of each. This class provided a very grounded look at issues facing Canada. Rather than focusing on philosophical arguments, or large theories, the focus was on real-world issues with examples, policy papers, and referendum questions. This was a much smaller focus than my other classes which looked at big historical events or major theories, but these Canadian institutions, and changes to them would have massive impacts on Canadian society, and thus the thorough examination of these institutions was well-warranted.
